Our interactive work BA-Tale and my sound poem eXiOrs appear in the Arts Section of Drunken Boat No. 14.
eXiOrs is an audio-poem that plays with the sound qualities of the words. At certain points, similar sounding expressions with different meanings or homophones are layered on top of each other to bring about a polyvocal experience. The words, exiting from narrator’s inner space, seem to lude her into a provocative and engaging game.
The tones were created by Korg Monotron, Cracklebox and digital manipulation.
As nicely put by Rob Ray:
“Art is special type of chaos. Even in its most subtle forms, it infects and upends our internal taxonomies and leaves us with some new jumble of things to try to make sense of. The works in this folio exude a particular telemetrical enthusiasm and energy generated from and by this chaos.”
